SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh High Court Judge the Justice Sh Tarlok Singh Chauhan has been appointed as the new Executive Chairperson of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority(HPSLSA).
The law department of the state government has issued a notification in this regard today, informed HPSLSA member secretary, Prem Pal Ranta, who is the District and Sessions judge.
Earlier, Acting Chief Justice of the State High Court Smt Sabina was the Chairperson of the Authority.
Born on January 9, 1964, in Farog village of Rohru, Justice Chauhan received his early education from Bishop Cotton School in Shimla.
He graduated with Honours from DAV College Chandigarh, got a law degree from Punjab University Chandigarh and became an advocate in the year 1989 and joined Lala Chhabil Das chamber of senior advocates.
