Shimla, December 14, 2024: A National Lok Adalat for pre-litigation and pending cases was organized across all courts in Himachal Pradesh under the guidance of Hon’ble Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Acting Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court and Executive Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (HPSLSA).
In a significant move, ePay (eCourts Digital Payment) was made available for payment of compounding fees, especially for Motor Vehicle challans in Traffic Magistrate courts.
The event was widely publicized through SMS, jingles, IEC materials, and local awareness initiatives involving NGOs, Panchayati Raj Institutions, para-legal volunteers, and public transport services.
A total of 1,02,783 cases were presented before various benches during the Lok Adalat, of which 53,789 were successfully resolved. Settlements worth ₹91.74 crore were awarded.
HPSLSA expressed gratitude to the print and electronic media for their support in making the event a resounding success.
