Shimla: Under the guidance of Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Acting Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court and Executive Chairman of the H.P. State Legal Services Authority, a National Lok Adalat will be held across all courts in Himachal Pradesh on December 14, 2024.
The event aims to resolve disputes amicably, offering litigants a chance to settle their cases outside court. Around 62,000 cases have already been identified for resolution. Local Bar Associations, insurance companies, banks, and financial institutions are actively coordinating to make the event successful.
To make the process more convenient, an online payment facility via ePay has been enabled for Motor Vehicle (MV) Challans, particularly in Traffic Magistrate courts. Efforts are also underway to spread awareness about the Lok Adalat through local bodies, NGOs, Panchayati Raj Institutions, para-legal volunteers, and public transport services.
The media, recognized as a key partner, is being urged to help inform the public about this opportunity. Litigants are encouraged to take advantage of this platform to settle their disputes on December 14.
