SHIMLA; Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated the Rs. 5.12 crore lift irrigation schemes in Shikawari and announced a Primary health centre in Seraj, his home constituency.
Addressing the public meeting there Chief Minister said that lift irrigation scheme in Shikawari would go a long way in providing better irrigation facilities to the farmers of the area. The farmers would be able to opt for cultivation of cash crops that would ensure them better income.
Earlier the Chief Minister performed inaugurations and foundation stones of five developmental projects worth over Rs. 8 crore at Shikawari in Thunag tehsil of Mandi district today.
Jai Ram Thakur laid foundation stones of Rs. 90 lakh 35 meters span jeepable bridge over Bakhali khad at Khedi in village Shikawari and Rs. 39 lakh Panchayat Samudayik Kendra Lehthach at Ratti Dhar. He also planted deodar plant on the occasion there.
Wife of Chief Minister and Chairperson Hospital Welfare Section H.P. State Red Cross Society Dr. Sadhana Thakur was also present on the occasion.
