SHIMLA- Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has made an important decision to include employees of the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) in the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). This decision will provide social security to around 6,500 HPSEBL employees.
The Chief Minister recognized the vital role played by government employees in the state's progress and development. In their first cabinet meeting, the state government approved bringing back the old pension scheme, which will benefit over 1.36 lakh state employees. By extending this scheme to HPSEBL employees, the government ensures that they won't miss out on the benefits provided under the system.
The well-being of government employees is a top priority for the state government. As Himachal Pradesh continues to develop, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of taking care of government employees. By prioritizing their welfare, the government aims to enable them to contribute effectively to the state's overall growth.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that the government has implemented other measures to improve the well-being of government employees. They have released a three percent dearness allowance installment, even in challenging economic times. The government is committed to a balanced approach and plans to gradually address all pending issues as the state's financial condition improves.
Unlike the previous government, which made promises without fulfilling them, the current government is determined to fulfill its commitments and provide actual benefits to the employees as the state's financial situation gets better.
