 Mallika Nadda, chairperson Special Olympics Bharat, urged Himachaliis  residing in Delhi to protect the cultural heritage of Hiamachal in the metro while addressing the gathering on the celebration of 50 years of statethood of Himachal Swarnim Him Mahotsav in Delhi.. The Him Utsav was organised by Himachal Bhawan management, resident Commissioner office and Himachal Social Bodies Federation.  

Speaking on the occasion, Mallika Nadda who was the chief guest urged the Himachalis to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the state while remaining connected to their roots back home. She said that Himachalis are known for their hard work, sincerity and honesty across the country and they should preserve their identity and live up to their reputation.

She said that Dev Bhoomi Himachal Pradesh is the land of sages like Vyaas and Markandey Rishis and is a repository of glorious culture and traditions. She stressed upon preserving them so that young generation could understand its value and take pride in it.

Mallika Nadda also paid rich tributes to heroes of freedom struggle, Praja Mandal Movement, Martyrs from the state who laid down their lives guarding the frontiers of the country and remembered their contribution.

She gave a clarion call to all Himachalis to unite and work for building a strong society, state and nation which is development and growth oriented. She paid rich tributes to Dr. Y.S Parmar, the first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and lauded the contribution of all other Chief Ministers who remained in office for building a strong state. She also lauded the sincere efforts of present Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.

 Nadda also urged the Himachalis residing in Delhi/NCR to come forward to help differently abled people in the society so that they could be brought in the mainstream. She also detailed about the activities of Special Olympics Bharat.

 Nadda also honoured Himachalis who have contributed towards the logistics for holding the function. Swarnim Himachal Painting Competition was organized on the occasion by the Federation in which 72 children belonging to Himachal Pradesh residing in Delhi/NCR participated.

Mallika awarded certificates to the participants and winners of the competition. Nand Lal Vice Chairman, Lalit Kala Academy presided over the function.

Nand Lal Vice Chairman, Lalit Kala Academy also spoke on the occasion. He requested to develop art gallery in Himachal Bhawan property for art lovers and artists of Himachal Pradesh.

K R Verma Chief Coordinator Himachal Social Bodies Federation detailed about the activities of the Federation. He informed that more than 22 Himachali Associations working in Delhi/NCR have united under the aegis of the Federation.

He  said that the Body would also coordinate with the RC office to hold two more events to commemorate Swarnim Himachal Celebrations in upcoming months of December and January.

S.K Singla Principal Resident Commissioner presented vote of thanks on the occasion.

Pankaj Sharma Deputy Resident Commissioner, Resident Himachalis of Delhi/NCR and Representatives of Himachal Social Bodies Federation were present on the occasion.
