SHIMLA: Director General of Police, Himachal Pradesh Sanjay Kundu today constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the murder of a 15 years old girl that took place in Pratapnagar locality under police station Amb in Una district on April 4.
According to the police, SIT will be headed by Vimukat Ranjan, Commandant, 1st IRBn. Bangarh consisting of Rohit Malpani, SP-Cyber Crime, Arjit Sen Thakur, SP Una and Virender Kalia, SP CID-Crime. They have been directed to expediate the investigation.
The police have lodged FIR No. 59/2022 on 05.04.2022 under section 302 IPC registered in Police Station, Amb district Una relating to murder of a 15 years girl. The SIT has been directed to take up the investigation of this case immediately.
The police have arrested a newspaper hawker Arif Mohammad in this connection on Friday. Her mother had found the throat of her daughter slit with a sharp-edged weapon. It was alleged that accused tried to molest her, but she resisted and he slit her throat. The weapon was recovered by the police from the spot. The forensic evidence has also been collected from the spot, said the police.
Realising the gravity of the crime DGP constituted the SIT to investigate the matter.
