At the roof of Himachal in the wind-lashed barrenness of Spiti, the Indian Army is calling on the toughest to lace up and run โ not just for glory, but for grit.
Welcome to the "๐ฆ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฌ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฃ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฑ", a high-altitude marathon that isn't just a test of legs, but of lungs, willpower, and the human spirit.
It is aย land of gompas and monasteries where film star of the likes ofย Sunny Deol mingle freely with the Spiti bellies whenever he goes there for a shoot.ย
The challenge kicks off with the rocketing Kunzum La Ultra (77 km) on 22 August, followed by:
Full Marathon (42 km) โ 24 August
Half Marathon (21 km) โ 24 August
10 km Run โ 24 August
This is not just a race โ itโs a pilgrimage through Himalayan wilderness, with the Indian Armyโs Surya Command as your comrades on the trail.

Spiti is a rain shadow region โ no monsoons, no slush, no landslides. Just you, the road, and the mountains.
Kunzum La, the snow-capped Chandra Bhaga peaks, Mulkila guarding over Chandratal โ itโs surreal.
The lake itself is a miracle in the mountains, where shepherds, herds, and even snow leopards fight for survival. Now imagine running through that."
