Shimla: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inaugurated Himachal Pradesh's first Trauma Center at IGMC, Shimla, built at a cost of ₹33 crore.
The facility, equipped with modern technology similar to AIIMS, aims to strengthen emergency services in the state.
With 30 doctors, 80 nurses, and paramedical staff, the center promises 24/7 healthcare for critical patients. Sukhu also announced ₹5 crore each for two new hostels for undergraduate doctors, to be completed within 18 months.
At the closing ceremony of ‘Stimulus-2024,’ the CM granted ₹10 lakh to students and assured solutions to parking issues at IGMC.
He also promised funds for a new lecture theater and highlighted plans to modernize all government departments by 2027, with a focus on healthcare and education reforms.
In addition, 720 new posts have been approved for IGMC, with walk-in interviews for doctors and 200 more appointments coming soon.
Advanced medical equipment, including an MRI Three Tesla machine and robotic surgery tools, are set to be procured for Himachal's hospitals.
Sukhu took a swipe at the opposition, calling the BJP the "Badi Jhooti Party" and suggested a "tax on lies" after emphasizing that no new taxes have been introduced during his government’s 20-month tenure.
Health Minister Dr. Dhaniram Shandil, MLA Harish Janartha, and other dignitaries attended the event.
