SHIMLA:  Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Thakur said said the Chief Minister Rs 8828 crore in the budget is earmarked for the education. 

Chief Minister said to reorient the education system towards meeting the needs of the 21st century by achieving the twin objectives of inclusion and excellence.

He has announced 10000 tablets  for meritorious students and 17510 tablets to regular teachers.

"This aims at providing digital quality education to all in a phased manner. Apart from this, 762 schools will be digitized under the ICT Scheme".

To fulfill the guarantee of both qualitative and quantitative education as promised in the 'Pratigya Patra' of the Congress, the Rajiv Gandhi Government Model Day-Boarding schools in each assembly segment.  He has proposed Rs 300 crore for these schools, he added.      

He said  the schools  will help improve the learning outcomes of children, providing them with a congenial atmosphere in the schools. They will have enough space for indoor and outdoor sports activities, lab facilities, a library, swimming pool and modern classrooms. 

They will get access to libraries  and to National Digital Library in each Senior Secondary School..

The government is expanding vocational education in the State by introducing market based employment oriented courses in Industrial Training Institutes and Polytechnics.

The new value added courses will improve the quality of technical education- Robotics, Cloud Computing, Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning in Government institutions. It will open new vistas of employment opportunities for the youth, he said.
