Teachers Day at Sunni college in Shimla

SHIMLA: On September 5, 2024, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government College, Sunni, celebrated Teacher's Day with great enthusiasm.

The event was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony by the college's principal, Dr. R.L. Sharma, along with special guests Dr. Neena Gupta, a former principal of the college (retired), and Dr. Deepak Sharma, the former principal of Government College Banjar, Kullu.

Students showcased various cultural performances, including a Saraswati Vandana by the music department, solo dances, a play on the role of teachers, speeches, and a traditional Himachali Nati.

Suryaprakash, a BA final-year student, elaborated on the significance of Teacher's Day in his speech. 

Special guest Dr. Neena Gupta spoke extensively about the vital role of teachers in shaping students' lives.

Principal Dr. Sharma emphasized the irreplaceable role of teachers, stating that technology could never replace them.

He urged students to spend more time with books and in the library, highlighting the importance of utilizing time wisely and moving forward with strong moral values.

The principal honored the special guests with mementos. The event concluded with the national anthem, and the entire program was hosted by students Sanvi Verma and Kritika Verma.

All faculty members and non-teaching staff were in attendance.
