SHIMLA: In an effort to raise awareness on World Diabetes Day, the Lions Club of Shimla held a free ‘Diabetes Screening & Blood Test Camp’ today. As many as 200 people benefited from the camp.
The camp took place in Neen Panchayat, Basantpur Block, Shimla.
Lions Club President Man Mohan Verma shared that the event aimed to educate the community on diabetes risks and management.
The camp offered free diabetes screenings and blood tests, including FBS, PP, CVC, TLC, DLC, and hemoglobin tests.
Over 200 residents and students attended the camp, benefiting from the tests and receiving health guidance.
Lion Dr. Rajesh Chanana, Project Chairperson, provided advice based on the test results.
He emphasized the importance of monitoring blood sugar levels and taking preventive measures.
BVP Clinical Laboratory, Shimla, conducted the tests. Essential medicines were also distributed free of charge to the participants, said Man Mohan Verma.
Panchayat Pradhan Sh. Baldev Verma and local members expressed their gratitude to the Lions Club.
Verma praised the club’s efforts, highlighting the need for health awareness and access to healthcare in rural areas.
Many members of the Lions Club played a part in the camp’s success.
Participants included Secretary M.K. Sharma, Directors Sufal Sood and D.K. Chauhan, Vice President Gopal Vaid, Tamer J.P. Sharma, and members Sunil Sood, Pradeep Sood, and Daleep Kumar.
Together with the panchayat, they worked to ensure the camp’s success.
