Government College Sunni Celebrates Independence Remembrance with Enthusiasm

Sunni: Government College Sunni marked Independence Remembrance Day with great fervor on August 14, 2024.

The event was graced by the college's Principal, Ram Lal Sharma, who served as the chief guest, and the special guest, former Vice-Chancellor of Sardar Patel University, Mandi, Prof. Dev Dutt Sharma.

In his motivational speech, Prof. Dev Dutt Sharma elaborated on the true essence, relevance, and significance of independence, using simple and relatable examples.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining national integrity and urged students to stay committed to their duties toward the nation, especially in the current geopolitical, economic, social, and religious contexts.

The cultural program that followed featured a range of performances by students from the NSS, NCC, Ranger and Rover units, and the Eco Club. The event included songs, duets, group songs, solo dances, and group dances.

The judging panel, consisting of Prof. Sunil Acharya, Prof. Ashwini Kumar, and Prof. Sabarish Thakur, evaluated the performances.

Highlights of the cultural program included the following winners:

- **Solo Song**: Jyotika (1st), Dharmendra (2nd), Mohini (3rd)

- **Duet Song**: Bharti and Bhavna (1st), Karan and Muskan (2nd), Mamta and Preeti (3rd)

- **Solo Dance**: Deepansh (1st), Nitin (2nd), Divya (3rd)

- **Duet Dance**: Kanika and Yogita (1st), Mohini and Deeksha (2nd), Neha and Divya (3rd)

- **Group Dance**: NSS students (1st), NCC students (2nd)

- **Group Song**: Rover & Ranger students (1st), NSS students (2nd), NCC students (3rd)

The event concluded with the national anthem, sung with renewed enthusiasm and determination, signaling the successful end of the celebration.

Principal Ram Lal Sharma lauded the efforts of the students along with  faculty members, who participated in the event, which was filled with joy, new aspirations, and a collective commitment to national service.
