SHIMLA: Trivandrum region with 98.83 per cent scored highest pass per centage, while Panchkula region that covers Himachal also scored 94.08 per cent lapping up the 8th place in the country in the CBSE results of Class 12th declared today on its official website.
Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj told mediapersons in Delhi that the CBSE has not declared the merit list for the term I and Term II results to “avoid unhealthy competition among the students”.
CBSE has adopted “alternative assessment scheme” as per directions of the Supreme Court because the exams were not held due to peculiar corona pandemic situation in 2021 and 2022.
The Board has also not awarded first, second, third divisions to its students, Bhardwaj said. “CBSE will award merit certificates to the students scoring highest marks in the subjects”, he said.
CBSE says that the 92.7 per cent cleared the class 12th and 94.40 per cent passed 10th examination, results for which were declared today simultaneously for the first time.
In class 12th 1,34,797 candidates scored above 95% and 33,432 scored above 90%.
In class 10th as many as 64,908 candidates scored about 95%, while 2,36,993 scored above 90 percent.
Back in Shimla, sharing the results, DAV Public School New Shimla principal Rakesh Chandel says the school feels immensely proud of its students for giving an excellent result in Class XII CBSE Examination.
In humanities stream, Gaurav Kumar has topped the school with a percentage of 97.80% in Humanities followed by Sanvi Negi 95.60%, Prajwal Sharma 95.2%, Antriksh Bharota 94.60% , Prachi Thakur and Sneha Sharma scored 94%
In the Science stream, Shivang Nagta has topped in the Science stream with 96%. Dhruv Chauhan with 95.8%, Astha Dogra with 93.2%, came second and third respectively.
Ansh Thakur was on forth position with 93.2% and Ansh Thakur(II) bagged the fifth position with 90%.
Similarly in the Commerce Stream, Deeya Sharma is the topper scoring 94.4%, followed by Ghritika Sharma( 92.2%).
Neha Tekta 89.2% , Jayant Sharma 88.8%, Atharv Chauhan 88.2% and Paresh Singh 88.2%.
