SHIMLA: Captains of industry have urged the state government to resolve issues of power developers on "ease of doing business front", even as state government has launched a special amnesty scheme for the developers.
The power developers say they are facing delay in getting FCA clearance, land and revenue issue, and poor infrastructure at the project areas.
These are causing delays in commissioning of the hydropower projects in Himachal Pradesh.
These issues of power developers came to forefront at the 3rd edition of CII Himachal Pradesh Power Conclave held on the virtual platform July 22.
The theme of the conclave was, “ Making Himachal Pradesh Power capital of India”.
Many issues on ease of doing business front are delaying power projects.
“CII believes that state government must resolve the issue of power sector to rope in new investments in this sector”, said Mr Gagan Kapoor, Vice-Chairman, CII Himachal Pradesh.
He said the old projects could also function as per their actual capacity. “This will help state in getting revenue and also create employment for the local youth”, Kapur said.
Hydropower is considered the green and clean source of power generation.
Keeping in view the vast hydropower potential of the Himachal Pradesh, CII advocates for harnessing this untapped power potential.
