SJVN’s Rampur HPS Achieves Fastest-Ever 2000 MU Generation

SJVN’s 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station (HPS) has set a new operational benchmark by achieving 2000 Million Units (MU) of power generation in a financial year on February 5, 2026, the fastest in the project’s history.
Chairman & Managing Director Sh. Bhupender Gupta said the milestone was achieved nine days ahead of the previous record set on February 14, 2020, marking the best generation performance of Rampur HPS in the last eleven years.
Congratulating the project team, SJVN management praised the discipline, dedication and strong work culture of the Rampur HPS workforce and acknowledged the continued support of the Government of India, Government of Himachal Pradesh, Ministry of Power, Central Electricity Authority, and the district administrations of Shimla and Kullu.
CMD Sh. Bhupender Gupta commended the team led by Head of Project Sh. Vikas Marwah for maintaining high operational standards.
Director (Personnel) Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma attributed the achievement to collective competence, effective HR practices and seamless inter-departmental coordination, while Director (Finance) Sh. Sipan Kumar Garg said the record generation reflects strong financial discipline aligned with operational excellence.
Since commissioning, Rampur Hydro Power Station has consistently delivered high performance, reflecting its robust engineering design, rigorous maintenance regime and sustained operational efficiency.
The achievement reinforces SJVN’s commitment to clean, reliable and sustainable power generation for the nation, said its spokesperson.
