SHIMLA: Shriya Lohia, a child prodigy Karting Race star in the motorsports world, who has received National Child Award for her feat, was honoured by the Governor here today at Raj Bhawan for her achievements.
Shriya, 13, called on Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhavan on Monday. On the occasion, Governor expressed happiness that Kumari Shriya has registered several awards for Motorsports Karting Race at the national level.
He said that she has brought pride to Himachal by representing the country in international racing. He said that she was an inspiration to other budding players in the state.
Shriya is a class apart and of a different mold. She was on the wheel at age nine at Vadodra on track run by motorsport ace Mira Erda and made her mark. She is India's rising motorsport star promising a bright future for the sport in India.
She is a student at Chail Public School. Her inspiration are the karting race icons of the likes of Charles Leclerc and Alex Albon who dare to drive fearlessly. Her sister is a shooter while her mother is an entrepreneur.
She had many awards in her kitty. She was awarded outstanding woman (13 years old) in motorsport in 2018 and 2019.
Shriya hails from Sundernagar in Mandi district. She says that the motor karting race has become her passion and she would go full steam for national and international events in the near future.
Shriya says the children should choose their "first interest", work on it, and pursue it with a passion to succeed in life. It is through hard work, passion and by giving cent percent that one can achieve goals in life, she adds.
