Shimla/New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh has secured the top spot in the SPARK
(Systematic Progressive Analytical & Real Time Ranking) Awards for its outstanding work on the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) for the 2023-24 financial year.
The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs recognized Himachal's efforts, awarding it first place in the category of Overall Performance Among North Eastern Region and Hilly States.
The award was presented by Union Minister Sh. Manohar Lal Khattar during the 'Utkrishtata ki aur badte kadam' event on July 18, 2024, at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
Also in attendance were Minister of State Sh. Tokhan Sahu, Secretary Sh. Anurag Jain, and Joint Secretary Sh. Rahul Kapoor from MoHUA.
Sh. Gopal Chand, Director of Urban Development and State Mission Director (DAY-NULM) for Himachal Pradesh, received the award along with his team.
The entire DAY-NULM team was praised for their hard work and dedication in achieving this honor.
Director Sh. Gopal Chand attributed the success to the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Urban Development Minister Sh. Vikramaditya Singh, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sh. Ashish Butail, and Principal Secretary of Urban Development Sh. Devesh Kumar.
He expressed confidence that the department would continue to excel and aim for the top rank in the central government's ranking for the 2024-25 financial year.
