SHIMLA: In a rare honour, Dr. Pupul Dutta Prasad, IGP-South Range was conferred upon the
Ph.D degree in ‘Social Polity’ at a ceremony held at the London School of Economics and
Political Science, London on 15th December 2022.
Himachal Pradesh DGP Sanjay Kundu has congratulated Dr Prasad on behalf of the whole state police fraternity for this rare distinction. London School of Economics is one of the most prestigious
universities in the world.
Dr. Pupul Dutta Prasad has previously worked as contingent commander of India
contingent in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus during 2013-14.
He also served as SP Kinnaur, Sirmour and Mandi over a period of time. He has
also served at National Human Rights Commission of India.
Currently Dr prasad is posted as Inspector General of Police, Southern Range, Shimla. He has an M.Sc degree in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and an L.L.B degree from Delhi University.
He was also a Commonwealth Scholar at the department of Social Politics at the London School of Economics
during the year 2018-2022.
