Mandi, 12th August 2024: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has clinched the 8th spot in the Innovation category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, a ranking conducted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Announced today in New Delhi by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the NIRF 2024 results also revealed that IIT Mandi has jumped to the 31st rank in the Engineering category and secured the 72nd position overall.
Education Minister Pradhan emphasized that the ranking process is constantly evolving to be more transparent and fair.
He encouraged all institutions, both public and private, to participate actively in NIRF to enhance their performance and contribute to the growth of India's higher education sector.
Dr. Kumar Sambhav Pandey, Registrar of IIT Mandi, expressed excitement over the institute's 8th place in Innovation. "This ranking highlights our commitment to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship.
"We aim to keep pushing boundaries and make significant contributions to the nation's technological progress," he said.
NIRF's 2024 edition ranks institutions across various categories including overall, university, engineering, management, and more. New categories this year include open universities, skill universities, and state-funded government universities.
