Bharat is  emerging as new EV hub and Altmin  will represent India at Global Innovation Platform to be held in Nice from June 14 to June 16 ...

NEW DELHI: A new dawn may not be far when India emerges as a global EV and clean energy hub if the optimism expressed by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Bharat Innovates 2026 turns into reality.

At the centre of this growing confidence is deep-tech startup Altmin, which is building India’s first LFP cathode giga factory in Telangana and laying the foundation for a fully integrated lithium-ion battery supply chain in the country.

Showcased as one of the elite startups selected for the prestigious Bharat Innovates 2026 programme of the Ministry of Education, Altmin will represent India from June 14 to 16 at the global innovation platform in Nice.

The startup is betting big on eco-friendly battery materials, lithium refining partnerships and next-generation cell engineering technologies. By joining hands with global mineral partners and Indian research institutions like International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials, Altmin is aiming to reduce India’s dependence on imported battery materials while strengthening the country’s EV and energy storage ecosystem.

Officials at the event said India’s push for sustainable mobility, battery manufacturing and clean energy innovation is now attracting serious global attention. Pradhan underlined that Indian startups are no longer just service providers but are becoming technology creators capable of shaping the future global economy.

With startups like Altmin entering the deep-tech battery manufacturing space, many believe India could soon emerge as a major global EV manufacturing and energy storage hub in the coming decade.
