Shimla: SJVN has secured a 100 MW Solar Power Project through an e-Reverse Auction conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).
According to SJVN CMD Nand Lal Sharma the quoted capacity was achieved at a rate of Rs 2.63/Unit on a Build Own and Operate basis via a tariff-based competitive bidding process.
The Ground Mounted Solar Project, to be developed by SJVN's subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), is estimated to cost Rs 550 crore.
Sharma revealed that the project, set to be commissioned within 18 months from the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), can be established anywhere in India.
The PPA, spanning 25 years, will be signed between SGEL and GUVNL.
Highlighting the project's benefits, Sharma projected an initial annual generation of about 252 million units, with a cumulative energy production of 5866 million units over 25 years.
Furthermore, the commissioning of this solar project is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 287,434 tonnes.
This successful bid strengthens SJVN's renewable energy portfolio, bringing their solar and wind capacity to 5090.5 MW.
Currently, 179.5 MW is operational, 1860 MW is under construction, and 3051 MW is in various stages of implementation.
With a bold mission of achieving 12,000 MW by 2026 and a shared vision of 25,000 MW by 2030, SJVN continues to advance towards its ambitious renewable energy goals.
