SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh State Taxes and Excise Department has collected  Rs. 8403.70 crore tax despite Covid-19 in 2021-22. Tax revenue has netted  19.30 percent increase over 2020-21, says the government. 

The spokesperson said the increase in revenue collection was possible due to constant efforts of the department. The officers timely implemented directions of the state government. 

 As a result, the department collected  Rs. 7044.24 crore in the Financial Year 2020-21.The tax revenue collection was  Rs. 7044.24 crore in the Financial Year 2020-21.

The officers of the department were facilitated with laptop and tablets by the government . Due to this,  officers were able to timely complete the online works such as verification of e-way bills,

"ITC imbalance, refund of GST and other GST related works and were able to generate increase in revenue collection in 2021-22 despite Covid-19 pandemic", says the spokesperson.
