Shimla- The Bulk Drug Park in Haroli, Una will involve an investment of Rs. 8,000-10,000 crore that expects to create about 15,000 jobs in the region.
Though the government has got a grant of Rs. 225 crore from the Centre for park's development, the state government has set up the dedicated implementing agency-Himachal Pradesh Bulk Drug Park Infrastructure Limited (HPBDPIL) for the purpose.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the state government is fully committed to the timely completion of the park and aims to make Himachal Pradesh a Pharma Hub.
The BBMB, Jal Shakti Vibhag and the implement agencies have sped up efforts to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply and essential infrastructure for the park.
The State Jal Shakti Vibhag has been entrusted with executing water-related works promptly, with an allocated budget of Rs. 11.75 crore for groundwater recharge and maintenance in the area. Furthermore, collaborations are being explored with the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) to establish a permanent power supply to the park. T
HP Transmission Corporation Limited (HPTCL) and HP State Electricity Board (HPSEB) have been entrusted with constructing the outer electrical infrastructure to support the Bulk Drug Park's operations.
A particular focus has been placed on developing and fortifying essential prerequisites such as water, electricity, and internal road infrastructure.
Sukhu said the government plans to attract Rs. 20,000 crore in private sector investments, creating employment opportunities for over 50,000 youth in manufacturing, tourism, energy, construction, and housing in months to come.
