Massive Crackdown on Mahadev Betting Scam: CBI Raids 60 Locations, Exposes politician- Bureaucrats-Police Nexus in Dubai-Run Racket

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday cracked down hard on the infamous Mahadev Book online betting scam, conducting massive searches at 60 locations spread across Chhattisgarh, Bhopal, Kolkata, and Delhi.
The raids unearthed deep-rooted links of the Dubai-based betting empire with powerful bureaucrats, police officers, and politicians back home.
Promoted by Dubai-based Ravi Uppal and Saurabh Chandrakar, the Mahadev Book betting syndicate has been running illegal operations online, minting thousands of crores.
Investigations revealed that the duo was allegedly paying hefty "protection money" to top government officials, senior cops, and political heavyweights to keep the betting operations running smoothly without any legal hurdles.
The scam, first unearthed by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Raipur, was later handed over to the CBI by the Chhattisgarh government for a deeper probe into the murky connections of the betting mafia with the power corridors.
Sources in the CBI confirmed that multiple digital and documentary evidences exposing this unholy nexus were seized during today’s coordinated raids.
"The searches are still underway. We have recovered crucial documents, mobile data, and digital trails pointing towards large-scale corruption and money laundering,” a senior officer said.
The Mahadev Book App, heavily promoted on social media platforms, chatbots, and AI tools, lured lakhs of users into online betting—spreading its tentacles into cricket, elections, and even casino games.
Chatbots were deployed to engage users 24x7, while AI-driven analytics tracked betting patterns, making it one of the most sophisticated gambling syndicates in the country.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had earlier arrested several operatives and seized assets worth crores linked to the syndicate.
With today’s CBI action, the heat is now on the bureaucratic and police lobbies suspected of shielding the scamsters.
As the probe deepens, big names from political and administrative circles are expected to tumble out, making it one of the biggest betting scandals of the country.
