SR Harnot Resonates in Malayalam as Four Translations Launched in Shimla

SHIMLA: CITY'S  iconic Gaiety Theatre witnessed a vibrant literary moment as four Malayalam translations—including two novels and a short story collection by S. R. Harnot, a Shimla based  renowned Hindi writer and a poetry collection by Rajan Tanwar—were officially launched at a national seminar on translation.

Writers and translators from Kerala joined literary voices from Himachal, underscoring the growing bridge between Hindi and Malayalam literature.

Speakers highlighted how translation not only expands readership but also carries culture, history, and regional identity across linguistic boundaries.

With Harnot’s works already part of academic curricula in Kerala, the new translations are expected to deepen literary exchange, bringing the Himalayas and the southern literary landscape closer—now speaking, reading, and resonating in one shared voice.
