SHIMLA:  After a gap of two years, Holi Festival was celebrated   with fervour with festival freaks going  in a Holi frenzy  in Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, Sujanpur  and other parts of Himachal  after Corona pandemic  eased out.    

Thousands of people dressed in their traditional best participated in the procession 'Shobha Yatra' from almost all parts of the district and converged in Sujanpur town for festival of colour. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presided over the closing ceremony of National Level Holi Utsav Sujanpur in Hamirpur district today by participating in Shobha Yatra. 

In the capital city of Shimla, Holi was marked with fervour,  with residents mainly youngsters going in an orgy of celebration,  beating to the tunes of  pahari songs in places like New Shimla, Sanjauli and other places. 

in Kullu town people performed the traditional Holi Dahan ceremony. The Holi was celebrated a day advance in Mandi town.  

in Sujanpur, Chief Minister participated in the Pagri Ceremony and performed Puja at Murli Manohar Mandir at Sujanpur. He also visited the exhibition at Mela Ground set up by various Departments, Boards and Corporation and evinced keen interest in it. 

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated Cow Sanctuary at Kheri constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.55 crore. Chief Minister also distributed prizes to winners of various events on the occasion.

Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar, Deputy Chief Whip Kamlesh Kumari, MLA Hamirpur Narender Thakur, Vice Chairman HRTC Vijay Agnihotri, Vice Chairman Gau Sewa Aayog Ashok Sharma, State Convener Kaushal Vikas Nigam Naveen Sharma, Chairman APMC Ajay Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Debsweta Banik, Superintendent of Police Dr. Aakriti Sharma were present on the occasion among others. 

Chief Minister also visited Raj Bhawan and greeted  the governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar  on the occasion.
