Solan- Honouring the demands of the Shradhalus, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced Maa Shoolini Fair in Solan would be elevate it to a National level event from next year.
The decision aims to celebrate the fair in a more grand and fitting manner, recognizing the deep faith of the people of Himachal in their deities, he said while addressing the gathering in the premises. .
Chief Minister Sukhu highlighted the government's focus on the welfare of the common people.
He stated that the state budget is designed to address the needs of all sections of society and offers a vision for the future.
Despite economic challenges, the government is committed to reviving the state's economy within the next four years. Sukhu expressed confidence in the transformational stage that Himachal Pradesh is going through and mentioned that it may take two to three years for the government's policies to fully materialize.
During the inauguration, the Chief Minister also paid respects to Shoolini Mata and offered prayers for the peace and prosperity of the state. He further launched the website of Maa Shoolini Temple and released a souvenir to commemorate the occasion.
Prior to the fair inauguration, Chief Minister Sukhu inaugurated the newly constructed Sainik Rest House in Solan, which was completed with an outlay of Rs. 3.15 crore.
Deputy Commissioner of Solan and Chairman of Maa Shoolini Fair Committee, Manmohan Sharma, honored the Chief Minister with a traditional Himachali Shawl and Cap.
The first cultural evening of the fair featured a captivating performance by Punjabi singer Jassi Gill, enthralling the audience with his musical talent.
Several dignitaries were present during the event, including Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Chaudhary Ram Kumar and Sanjay Awasthi, MLAs Vinod Sultanpuri and Sudarshan Bablu, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Sunil Sharma, OSD to the Chief Minister Ritesh Kapret, Mayor of Solan Municipal Corporation Poonam Grover, Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Surender Chauhan, and other senior officers.
The Maa Shoolini Fair holds immense cultural and religious significance in Himachal Pradesh, and its elevation to a National level event will further showcase the rich heritage and traditions of the region.
