SHIMLA: DAV New Shimla put up an impressive performance at the DAV Sports Cluster-Level Table Tennis Championship, emerging as the overall champion after sweeping most of the titles across various age categories.
In the boys' events, DAV New Shimla won the Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 titles, underlining its dominance in the tournament.
In the Under-14 category, DAV Dadlaghat finished as runners-up, while DAV Tutu secured the second position in the Under-17 section. In the Under-19 category, Dayanand Public School emerged as the runners-up.
The school's dominance extended to the girls' section as well. DAV New Shimla clinched the Under-14 title and qualified for the state-level championship.
The school also emerged victorious in the Under-17 category, with DAV Lakkar Bazaar finishing as runners-up. In the Under-19 girls' event, DAV New Shimla secured the top position and earned qualification for the state-level competition.
The championship concluded with a prize distribution ceremony in which winners and runners-up were felicitated for their outstanding performances.
Speaking on the occasion, DAV New Shimla Principal and Cluster-I Head Rakesh Kumar Chandel congratulated the players for their achievements and wished them success in the upcoming state-level championships.
He lauded the dedication of the students and coaches and said the results reflected the school's strong sporting culture and commitment to excellence in table tennis.
