Corbett National Park Uttarakhand

Dehradun, July 23

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Dehradun has filed a Prosecution Complaint (PC) before the Hon’ble Special Court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection with the illegal construction scam inside Corbett National Park.

The charges have been slapped on four former forest officials — Kishan Chand (then DFO), Brij Bihari Sharma (then Ranger), Akhilesh Tiwari (then DFO), and Mathura Singh Mavdi (then Ranger) — for their alleged involvement in unauthorized construction activities within the protected area.

The ED’s investigation revealed large-scale financial irregularities, illegal diversion of public funds, and laundering in the name of forest development works.

All four officials were posted in various roles in Uttarakhand’s forest department when the scam took place.

The Special Court will now examine the complaint for further legal proceedings in the high-profile corruption case that has rocked the state's forest administration.
