Foundation to Launch Alternative Marketing Platform for Farmers
Shimla, October 1, 2025
In a move aimed at breaking the long-standing monopoly of middlemen in agricultural markets, the Sarvangin Krishi Samadhan Foundation has announced the launch of an alternative marketing arrangement for fruits, vegetables, and other farm produce.
Foundation has also launched the solar charged sprayer for the apple farming, said DN Chauhan, CEO of the Foundation. It will decrease carbon footprints in orchards and save environment and improve Indian economy if commercialised in India, he asserted
The foundation said that the traditional market system has largely worked in favor of traders, leaving farmers at the mercy of buyers who dictate prices once the produce reaches the mandi.
Farmers often struggle even to recover transportation costs when demand dips, as buyers show little concern for their losses.
To address this, the foundation has developed the “Krishi Samadhan” platform, which it claims will provide holistic solutions to farmers’ marketing challenges.
The platform will enable farmers and their organizations to take control of the supply chain and ensure fair returns.
The detailed action plan of the initiative will be unveiled during a webinar on October 12, 2025, at 2 pm.
The foundation has also invited suggestions from farmers to make the platform more effective and farmer-centric.
The webinar participation link will be available on the foundation’s official Facebook page from October 10, 2025.
Farmers have been urged to follow the page, send in their queries, and share suggestions so these can be discussed during the event.
