Rescue Operation for 11 tourists at Timbertrail accident in Parwanoo

SHIMLA: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur ordered probe into the Timber Trail accident in which 11 tourists from Delhi were rescued after they had close save in midair in cable car which hang in balance after it developed technical snag. 

This accident was the second after similar accident took place a few years ago. But Timber Trail Management did not put in place corrective measures, rued the tourists. 

Anand Goyal a tourists who along others had close shave midair gave a statement under section 154 Cr.PC to the Police that this incident has taken place due to the carelessness of hotel management.

Accordingly, FIR was lodged under sections 336 & 287 IPC at  Police Station, Parwanoo. The investigation of this case is being carried out by the Addl. Superintendent of Police, Solan, said the police. 

Chief Minister who rushed to the spot from Hamirpur  said the state Government is committed to protect the precious human life and an inquiry has been ordered in this regard soon after he rushed to Parwanoo.

The videos of accident and rescue operation went viral on social media with thousands of tourists and locals jamming the highway while watching the rescue operation for hours.   

Chief Minister had telephonically informed the Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the incident and requested him to send the NDRF team in view of the safety of the tourists.

The Chief Minister himself reached Parwanoo from Hamirpur after getting information about the accident. He took detailed information about this incident from the officers present on spot and the Hotel management.

Jai Ram Thakur interacted with all 11 people safely rescued and inquired about their well being.

He assured that appropriate steps would be taken to ensure that such incidents do not reoccur.

He also interacted with the hotel staff and team of NDRF personnel who played a vital role in the rescue work on the occasion and thanked them for saving valuable human lives.

The Solan Police have lodged the FIR in this case on complaint of Mr. Anand Goel S/O  Madan Lal Goyal R/O A-172 Vivek Vihar Delhi, 52.

He  telephonically informed SDPO Parwanoo that he along with his family members have been stranded in mid-air on ropeway/trolley at Timber Trail Resorts,He informed that 5 females and 6 males including him are stuck inside the trolley.

SHO Parwanoo along with his team went to the spot to initiate rescue operation. Air Force Station at Kasauli was requested to provide necessary help and NDRF team stationed at Panchkula was also called to the spot, said SP Solan Virender Sharma.

With the help of local administration and NDRF team, all 11 people were safely rescued. Rescue operation was conducted under the supervision and guidance of DC and SP Solan. 

State BJP co-in-charge Sanjay Tandon, MP Shimla and state BJP president Suresh Kashyap, other BJP office bearers, Deputy Commissioner Solan Kritika Kulhari, Superintendent of Police Virendra Sharma, officers and employees of NDRF and other departments were present on the occasion.
