SHIMLA - HP Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu emphasized the need for timely completion of developmental projects in the State.
Presiding over a meeting held to review projects supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), CM urged effective utilization of all buildings and called for the transfer or revival of any dormant projects to ensure their progress.
Recognizing tourism as a vital sector for employment and revenue generation, the State Government is dedicated to promoting green tourism.
A significant budget allocation of Rs. 4,000 crore has been made for the development of the green industry, which is expected to attract more tourists.
In a boost to adventure tourism, Rs. 70 crore has been allocated for the commencement of adventure activities at Pong Dam in Kangra district, offering employment and self-employment opportunities to local youth.
The current government aims to transform Kangra district into the "Tourism Capital" of the State, and substantial efforts are being made in this direction.
The tourism department has been urged to prioritize not only constructing buildings but also ensuring provisions for electricity and water supply to avoid unnecessary project delays.
Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Raghubir Singh Bali, MLA Chandershekhar, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, and other officials, present in the meeting also provided valuable suggestions to enhance the tourism industry.
