New Delhi: The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Rajasthan Election Watch (REW) have initiated transparency by filing Right to Information (RTI) applications with the Rajasthan Assembly Secretariat.
According to the obtained data, the Rajasthan State Assembly conducted an average of 29 days of sessions per year. Notably, the longest sessions occurred during the 7th (from 9th February, 2022, to 23rd September 2022) and 8th sessions (from 23rd January, 2023, to 2nd August, 2023), both consisting of 30 sittings.
In terms of MLA attendance, the following members demonstrated the highest commitment:
Joginder Singh Awana from Bharatpur, Nadbai (INC) attended 145 out of 147 sittings (99% attendance).
Gajraj Khatana from Dausa, Bandikui (INC) attended 145 out of 147 sittings (99% attendance).
Manjeet Dharampal Choudhary from Alwar, Mundawar (BJP) attended 144 out of 147 sittings (98% attendance).
Dharmendra Kumar from Hanumangarh, Pilibanga (SC) (BJP) attended 143 out of 147 sittings (97% attendance).
In terms of questions asked by MLAs, a total of 176 MLAs posed a combined 42,454 questions. The top five MLAs who asked the highest number of questions are:
1. Santosh from Ganganagar, Anupgarh (SC) (BJP) asked 550 questions.
2. Phool Singh Meena from Udaipur, Udaipur Rural (ST) (BJP) asked 542 questions.
3. Amrit Lal Meena from Udaipur, Salumber (ST) (BJP) asked 535 questions.
4. Biharilal from Bikaner, Nokha (BJP) asked 534 questions.
5. Dharamnarayan Joshi from Udaipur, Mavli (BJP) asked 532 questions.
These questions covered various categories, with the highest number related to Medicine and Health, Education, and Energy.
Regarding legislative activity, a total of 134 Bills were tabled in the 15th Rajasthan Assembly. Impressively, 94% of these Bills, totaling 126, were passed, while two were withdrawn, and there was no discussion on six Bills.
