Rishikesh, July 7, 2024: The Art of Living Foundation, led by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, has embarked on a transformative journey in Uttarakhand, aiming to bring high-quality education and modern amenities to the state's remote border areas.
The foundation, in collaboration with the Uttarakhand Government, is setting up 108 solar-powered smart schools under the Himalay Unnati Mission.
In a statement about the initiative, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said, “Our mission is to provide top-notch education and skill development opportunities to children in remote areas.
By installing solar panels and modern classrooms, we are not only addressing the energy needs but also ensuring a conducive learning environment.
This initiative is a step towards reducing migration by empowering communities with the tools they need to thrive locally.”
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, present at the MoU signing, praised the collaboration, stating, “This partnership with the Art of Living is a pioneering effort for our state.
It not only modernizes education in rural schools but also brings hope to remote communities.
These smart schools will play a crucial role in reversing migration trends by providing excellent education and opportunities right here in our hills.”
