MANALI/SHIMLA: Get ready for an epic adventure as the Army convoy gears up for a test drive on the snowy Atal Tunnel-Keylong-Leh national highway!
Thanks to the heroic efforts of the Border Road Organisation, this 473 km highway is now clear of snow.
You will soon embark on the way for an exhilarating journey through breathtaking highlands with white sentinels lurking and greeting you throughout the journey.
SP Lahaul-Sipit Mayank Chaudhary has announced that soon, not just the Army, but thrill-seeking tourists and locals alike will be cruising down this scenic route, connecting Delhi, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, and finally reaching their destinations and homes in Leh, Kargil and Khardung La in Ladakh.
But wait, there's more! BRO isn't stopping there.
They're also working tirelessly on restoring the Grampu-Chatru-Kunjum Pass-Loser-Kaza highway, opening up access from Lahaul Valley to Spiti Subdivision.
Brace yourselves for a visit to the iconic Chandrat Lake, folks!
However, not all roads are smooth sailing. A landslide has blocked the Udaipur to Kilar and Sansari iNala route at Tindi, but fear not, restoration work is underway and you will drive your way to Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir.
Tourists can make a highway journey from Shimla via Narkanda, Rampur, Sarahan, Recong Peo, Kalpa, Sangla, Batseri, Chitkul in Kinnaur and on the Recong Peo to Chango, Pooh, Samdoh, Tabo, the Ajanta of Himalaya and to Kaza in Spiti.
BRO will soon restore the the Kaza-Kunjam-Chandratal route to travel to Keylong, Rohtang Pass and Manali and further to Leh and Ladakh.
Now, for the adventurous souls, the district administration of Lahaul and Spiti has opened up sightseeing from North Portal Keylong to Darcha snow point.
But beware! The selfie-crazy stretch from North Portal to Sissu is a bit shaky due to constant sliding. So, tread carefully, especially for the safety of three villages in Chandra Valley.
But amidst all the challenges, the Chandigarh Manali-Atal Tunnel route is buzzing with tourist traffic, with tourists flocking to Koksar and Jispa-Darcha for some serious snow fun!
So, pack your bags, buckle up, and get ready for an unforgettable journey through the snow-capped wonders of Lahaul and Ladakh this summer season.
Adventure awaits!"
