Shimla: In a statement today, senior BJP leader and former Assembly Speaker Vipin Parmar hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dedication to the development of Himachal Pradesh, referring to the state as the Prime Minister's "second home."
Parmar lauded PM Modi's recent announcement of a substantial financial package worth approximately Rs 7000 crore for the state, emphasizing the significant impact it would have on infrastructure projects.
Parmar cited several crucial projects included in the package, notably the Hamirpur Bypass, Sihuni to Rajol section of NH-154, and the Thanpuri to Paraur section of NH-154, all of which are set to benefit various parliamentary constituencies including Kangra, Hamirpur, Mandi, and Shimla.
Speaking on PM Modi's approach to development, Parmar emphasized the Prime Minister's commitment to holistic progress, ensuring comprehensive growth across all regions of Himachal Pradesh.
Parmar also lauded PM Modi's virtual inauguration of the Kiratpur-Nerchowk four-lane highway from New Delhi to Pung, a project costing Rs 4,759 crore.
He provided detailed insights into the construction process, highlighting the extensive work undertaken over four years to complete the 69-kilometer-long four-lane highway.
Parmar noted the construction of five tunnels, including the notable Garamora Tunnel spanning 1,800 meters, which are all set to enhance connectivity and transportation efficiency in the region.
Furthermore, Parmar revealed ongoing efforts to construct four parallel tunnels, with work progressing swiftly on the Garamora Tunnel parallel tunnel.
He also outlined the construction of 37 bridges as part of the project, comprising 22 large and 15 small bridges, further bolstering the state's infrastructure.
