Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh State Centre of the Institution of Engineers (India) held its 23rd Annual General Meeting.
Engineer Jaswant Singh was appointed as the new Chairman, and Dr. D.K. Vats took over as Honorary Secretary.
Outgoing President Engineer Vishwa Mohan Joshi praised the efforts of members. He said their hard work had helped the institution achieve great success.
Captain S.P. Jagota, Chief Engineer (HP PWD), was the Chief Guest. He highlighted the important role of engineers in society. "Such events bring new energy and focus," he said.
Outgoing committee members were honored for their service. Winners of a table tennis competition were also awarded.
The new committee officially took charge during the event. Dr. Vats thanked everyone and promised to work for the institution's progress. Chairman Jaswant Singh assured members of financial stability and readiness for new projects.
The Institution of Engineers (India) is the world’s largest engineering body. It has been promoting engineering excellence since 1920.
