Shimla, November 20, 2024: As many as 535 officials, including engineers and computer operators from key departments, were trained on the new State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF) Portal.
Developed by HPSDMA and NIC-HP, the portal promises transparency, efficiency, and accountability in handling disaster mitigation projects.
Sh. Nishant Thakur, Additional Secretary (Education) and Project Director of the SDMF, inaugurated the session.
He announced that all project proposals must now be submitted online, with a deadline of December 30, 2024, for resubmitting previously approved ones.
The portal’s standout features include satellite-based site selection, duplicate work prevention, instant access to project decisions, and real-time fund utilization tracking.
NIC Scientists led by Sanjay Thakur showcased tools like custom reporting and online DPR submissions to fast-track approvals.
Officials from PWD, JSV, HIMUDA, and other departments praised the initiative. The program, held in hybrid mode, marked a significant step toward modernizing disaster management in the state.
