Locals regardless of their religious affiliations hold the Dalai Kama in High esteem.
The protesters walked from their homes to their high altitude hub of Kaza, gathered at the venue next to the venue of the BJP and raised slogans against the BJP candidate Ranaut.
Tribals anger was pointed at Kangana despite BJP has tauted her as PM Modi's candidate and at that PM has launched the vibrant border village scheme for tribals living in the sensitive Indo China border.
Tribals told HimbuMail that they protested against Kangana as she had made a controversial remark against their Supreme guru, the Dalai Lama.
It is connected with a controversy related to an episode last year when the Dalai Lama had kissed a child in what they called a Vatsalya Love.
They put up a massive protest and shouted slogans against BJP candidate.
As the rally was over there followed melee. BJP accused the Congress government of encouraging Congress workers pelting stones at their workers in which one was reported to have suffered an injury to his foot.
Kangana faced a bitter experience for her remarks against the Dalai Lama during her Maidan visit to Spiti today.
Known for her strong and controversial opinions and high-profile presence, Kangana was in Kaza to garner support for her candidature in the upcoming elections.
However, her visit did not go as planned.
The protests erupted before her chopper could have been landed in Kaza. Local police had tough time in controlling the protesters, though they remained peaceful.
The opposition from the residents of Lahaul Spiti mainly Buddhists highlights underlying tensions and dissatisfaction among the local community.
Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh had also pointed out Kangana's remark against the Dalai Lama during his visit to Lahaul-Spiti and hence making a political capital out from this episode.
Sources indicate that the slogans were a reaction to her controversial remark against the Dalai Lama spiritual guru of Tibetans and Buddhists in Leh Ladakh and Lahaul Spiti.
The demonstrators expressed their frustrations over unaddressed local concerns, seeking to make their voices heard amidst the high-profile campaign.
Despite the setback, Ranaut continued with her scheduled engagements, meeting with local leaders and addressing small gatherings.
She emphasized her commitment to addressing the needs of all constituents, including those in the remote and tribal areas.
But BJP has lodged complaint with ECI as they had got permission for the rally. Why the Congress-led protectors were allowed near the venue, said Jai Ram Thakur from Kaza.
Former Chief Minister Jai RamThakur, emphasized the positive impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's welfare schemes and development initiatives on the families of Lahaul-Spiti.
Jai Ram Thakur stated, "The divine people of this region have decided to send BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut to Delhi by ensuring her victory, thereby supporting Modi for a third term as Prime Minister.
Alongside, the anti-people Congress government will face the backlash of the voters, and Ravi Thakur will be blessed with victory, he claimed.
But the protest in the highland Himachal has sent strong signal that all is not well with Kangana Ranaut, who haad been hogging the headlines from Bollywood to Mandi Lok Sabha constituency, making her the most controversial celebrity.
