Shimla, Feb 13: Lions Club Shimla continues its commitment to social upliftment, this time focusing on education. The club donated reference and textbooks worth ₹35,000 to the library of Government Degree College, Chail-Koti, in district Shimla.
Lions Club President Lion Man Mohan Verma emphasized the importance of education, stating, “It is always a pleasure to work for the community, but it becomes even more special when we work with children and education. Our children are the future, and by empowering them with knowledge, we are shaping generations to come.”
The donation was well received by the college community. Principal Dr. Deep Shikha, faculty members, and students expressed their gratitude, acknowledging the initiative as a significant step toward encouraging literacy.
Lions Club Shimla was represented by President Lion Man Mohan Verma, Project Chairperson Lion R.K. Jishtu, Trust Chairman Lion Kapil Sood, Secretary Lion M.K. Sharma, and Lion J.P. Sharma, among others, during the book donation event at Chail-Koti.
With a strong focus on civic, cultural, and social initiatives, Lions Club Shimla continues to work on awareness campaigns around cleanliness, eye donation, health issues, and other pressing community concerns.
