SHIMLA: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey were an elated lot, while they launched the Election Song performed by the famed Harmony of Pines band of the Himachal Pradesh Police, which has already created waves by its performances in the entrainment world.
The Commissioners also inaugurated an Election Exhibition at historic Gaiety Theatre here, showcasing SVEEP activities pertaining to electoral process organized in the districts all over the state under the UTSAV campaign.
They evinced keen interest in the exhibition and interacted with the Deputy Commissioners present there to brief about the SVEEEP activities they are undertaking in their respective districts.
The exhibition will be displayed till 26th September at Tavern Hall of Gaiety Theatre.
The Commission also launched the "Election Song" for awareness of the voters in various dialects of Himachal Pradesh. A live performance on Election Song was given by the HP Police Band, 'Harmony of the Pines'.
The song has caught the fancy of the voters across the state as Harmony of Pines have become a household name in Himachal Pradesh by their spellbound harmonies.
Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of Government Degree College, Arki performed a skit on electoral awareness.
A lively interaction with the audience by state icon Radio Jockey Shalini was also part of the awareness campaign.
The Commission felicitated the state election icons and members of ELC.
Earlier, the CEC launched a signature campaign by signing on the wall set up for awareness of the voters in the presence of Chief Electoral Officer, Maneesh Garg.
