SHIMLA- Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla recognized and honored Baljit Kaur, a renowned mountaineer from Solan, Himachal Pradesh, at Raj Bhawan.
The Governor commended her remarkable accomplishments and dedication in the field of mountaineering. Baljit Kaur's mother, Shanti Devi, was also present at the event.
The Governor expressed his pride in Baljit Kaur's achievement of unfurling the Indian flag on Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. He highlighted her talent by mentioning that she successfully climbed five mountain peaks above eight thousand meters, including Everest, within a month, setting an inspiring example for other adventure enthusiasts.
During the ceremony, Baljit Kaur shared her expedition experiences with the Governor. She mentioned her ascent of Annapurna, the tenth highest peak in the world, without the use of supplemental oxygen.
She provided details of the incident that occurred during this period. Baljit Kaur also expressed gratitude to the Governor for personally inquiring about her well-being over the phone while she was in the hospital.
