Shimla: In the first session of MLA Priority meeting, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a proposed annual budget of Rs. 9989.49 crore for the year 2024-25.
The government aims to make Himachal self-reliant in four years and the most prosperous state in ten years.
He said the focus is on clean, transparent, and accountable administration.
MLA priorities, funded through the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund, were discussed, with emphasis on timely utilization.
The government is actively working towards making Himachal a Green Energy State, signing a Rs. 2,000 crore MoU with the World Bank for Hydroelectric and Renewable Energy Development.
Various welfare measures, including increased wages for MNREGA workers and schemes for youth employment, were highlighted.
The government has allocated Rs. 4,500 crore as a special relief package for disaster-affected areas.
MLAs presented priorities, including infrastructure development, education, and curbing drug mafia activity.
Key officials attended the meeting, stressing the government's commitment to equitable development and prompt issue resolution.
