IMD Predicts Weather Changes in Himachal Due to Western Disturbances..
Shimla, January 18, 2025 – The IMD has predicted weather changes in Himachal Pradesh due to two active Western Disturbances. As a result, Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur will experience light snowfall.
A cyclonic system over northwest Uttar Pradesh persists at 3.1 km above sea level. Another disturbance as a trough extends along longitude 58°E, north of latitude 30°N.
Cold winds from the Subtropical Westerly Jet Stream are sweeping North India at speeds of up to 130 knots.

Shimla: 6.5°C, a rise of 3.7°C from yesterday.
Kalpa: -1.8°C, up by 4.4°C.
Keylong: -9.5°C, up by 3.9°C.
Manali: 2.1°C, up by 4.2°C.
Precipitation
No rainfall or snowfall has been recorded in most parts of the state, except for a trace of snow in Keylong.
The IMD suggests a watchful eye on higher altitudes as weather patterns may shift.
