Jitendra Singh's Scathing Attack on Congress: "Rahul Gandhi Ready for Bharat Ratna, But Public Isn’t Giving Him a Chance"

Shimla: Union Minister Jitendra Singh, addressing a press conference in Shimla today, launched a blistering attack on the Congress party, accusing it of undermining constitutional values for political gain and indulging in dynastic politics.

He alleged that Congress had consistently manipulated constitutional provisions for appeasement politics and vote bank strategies.

Singh claimed that while the BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought in landmark amendments for public welfare, Congress failed to do so during its tenure.

“Why couldn’t Congress pass the Women’s Reservation Bill, which guarantees 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies?

Because Congress cannot look beyond its sons, daughters, and sons-in-law. Their party is a private family enterprise,” he said.

Citing the BJP’s efforts to empower marginalized sections, Singh said, “Modi ji rectified Congress’s wrongs by introducing the Triple Talaq Bill, which protected the rights of Muslim women.

Similarly, the EWS reservation was a game-changing step for economically weaker sections, which Congress, despite its ‘Garibi Hatao’ slogans, never bothered to implement. Congress kept the poor impoverished to exploit their plight for votes.”

He also took a swipe at Congress’s failure to nurture India’s entrepreneurial spirit. “When Modi ji introduced ‘Startup India,’ there were only 350 startups in the country.

Today, there are over 1.5 lakh startups, placing India third globally. This proves that our youth always had talent, but Congress kept them shackled for decades to preserve its dynastic rule,” he added.

Singh accused Congress of using the Bharat Ratna award for self-glorification. “Congress awarded the Bharat Ratna to Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi while they were serving as Prime Ministers. Rajiv Gandhi followed.

They were even preparing to award Sonia Gandhi, but 2014 stopped them. Now, Rahul Gandhi is ready for Bharat Ratna, but the public isn’t giving him a chance,” Singh quipped sarcastically.

He contrasted this with the NDA’s decisions, emphasizing that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna by the BJP-led government.

“Congress disrespected Ambedkar repeatedly. They ensured his defeat in the 1952 elections and disregarded his legacy after his death.

It was Modi ji who established memorials at five key locations associated with Ambedkar and built the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in Delhi,” Singh asserted.

The Union Minister announced a nationwide BJP campaign named "Constitution Festival" to raise awareness about constitutional values and their preservation.

He alleged that Congress’s 88 instances of invoking Article 356 to dismiss state governments showcased its disregard for democratic principles.

“The Congress party is now running a malicious campaign, falsely portraying itself as the guardian of the Constitution".

In a sharp remark, Jitendra Singh accused Congress of disrespecting its own former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

“When Manmohan Singh was PM, he was humiliated publicly. Now, even during his funeral, no Congress leader bothered to collect his ashes. Modi ji gave him the respect he deserved,” Singh noted.
