SHIMLA: DGP Himachal Pradesh Sanjay Kundu today constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by DIG-Northern range to investigate the blast in the illegal firecracker factory in Una that killed six workers and injured 14 others today.
DGP constituted SIT after the locals alleged that the factory was run illegally over the period of time that posed risk to the residents in industrial area of Bathu, Tahliwal in district Una, where the factory went up in smoke killing 6 workers and injuring 14 others.
The police have lodged FIR No. 41/22 today under sections 286, 337, 304A IPC and 9(C) of Explosive Act at police station Haroli, district Una.
The SIT would be headed by Sumedha Diwedi, DIG northern range, Vimukat Ranjan, commandant first IRBn and Arjit Sen, SP Una. They will update on progress of the probe periodically, said the DGP.
