SHIMLA- The District Magistrate of Shimla, Aditya Negi, has issued an order banning all meetings, rallies, demonstrations, slogan chanting, or band performances on The Mall Road and The Ridge and surrounding areas in the Capital city.
Carrying items that can be used as weapons is also banned, and organizers need to obtain permission beforehand for any such events.
The District Magistrate noticed that some organizations have been organizing rallies and exhibitions on The Mall Road, causing disruptions to public order.
To address this, certain areas have been identified where these activities will be prohibited. These areas include Chhota Shimla to Kennedy House, The Ridge, Rendezvous Restaurant to Rivoli Cinema, Scandal Point to Kalibari Mandir, and others. Within a 50-meter radius of these locations, no meetings, rallies, slogans, or performances will be allowed, except for police, military, and paramilitary personnel on duty.
The order takes immediate effect and will be in place for the next two months. Failure to comply with the order may result in legal consequences.
