Shimla:Vikramaditya Singh, the Minister for Public Works, Youth Services, and Sports, expressed the government's commitment to promoting sports in all educational institutions in the state.
He made this announcement while serving as the chief guest at the opening of a three-day district-level sports competition in Sunni, Shimla Rural Assembly constituency.
Singh encouraged the students and their coaches, emphasizing that both victory and defeat are part of life. He stressed the importance of maintaining morale and striving for success in future competitions.
Singh highlighted the government's dedication to providing quality education and fostering physical and mental development in children through sports.
Regarding women's participation in politics, Singh mentioned the recent bill passed by the Central Government, with Congress Party support, to reserve 33 percent of seats in Parliament for women, awaiting the President's approval.
Singh also discussed development projects in the Shimla Rural Assembly constituency, including the forthcoming polytechnic institute in Sunni-Basantpur, road repairs, and the construction of a new model school in Sunni.
Furthermore, he inspected the site chosen for the Indian Food Council's storage building in Juni and assured to address local concerns before proceeding with the project.
The district-level sports competition, featuring 504 students from 61 primary schools participating in various sports, was inaugurated during the event.
