Shimla: The state government has released a festive allowance of Rs. 500 each for orphans and inmates of Bal Ashrams under the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Ashraya Yojana.

 A total of Rs. 5,27,000 has been issued for the 'Children of the State' in Child Care Institutions, along with Rs. 3,27,500 for timely Deepawali preparations.

The Sukh Ashray Yojana provides Rs. 500 per child during festivals, with additional amounts for Child Care Institutions based on their capacity.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu initiated this scheme, aiming to support the dependent and vulnerable sections of society. Various benefits, including monthly pocket money, coaching, land, house construction support, marriage, and industry grants, are part of the scheme.

The Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Fund has been established to promote public welfare, with contributions from government officials, MLAs, and donors from all sections of society.

The fund aims to provide prosperity and equal opportunities for the needy in the future.
